How to Join

1.  Sign up for our Meetup.com website.  Registration is required to join Meetup.com, but it is quick and simple.  All of our events and activities are managed through Meetup.

  • If you do not already have a Meetup.com login:
               1. Go to Meetup.com
               2. Click on the Sign Up button located at the top right of the screen. You can sign up using 
                   Facebook or your email address.
               3. Follow the instructions for creating your login. Once you login is created, follow the 
                   instructions below.


  • If you already have a Meetup.com login:
             4. Go to Meetup.com and Log In using your meetup ID
               5. Click on Find a Meetup Group on the top left of the screen
               6. Type “Scotch Plains-Fanwood Newcomers” in the Search box and hit Enter
               7. Our group should display with “Scotch Plains-Fanwood Newcomers’ as the name and a
                   graphic of a pineapple. Click on this to be taken to our Meetup page
               8. Click the Join Us! button to join our group
               9. You will be prompted to enter a short bio that can be seen by other members of our
                   club and answer a few brief profile questions. Please submit these answers to begin your 14-day free trial                    of our Meetup group 
              10. Please update your email notifications to ensure that you are receiving only the information
                    you want from meetup about our group. To do this, click on “My Profile” on the right
                    hand side of the screen in our group page. Select “Email and Notifications” from the
                    menu and choose the type and frequency of emails you would like Meetup to send
                    you about our group.
       
2. Yearly dues are currently $38.50 per family.  You can now pay via credit card through our 
Meetup site or via cash/check.  If paying by check please make it payable to 'SPF Newcomers and Neighbors' and email membership@spfnewcomers.com for the mailing address.

3.  Finally, please complete the "New Member Form" (a Google Doc) which will be emailed to the address you provide. This information is for Board planning purposes only and will not be distributed to general members.
